Suikyu (吸灸) is a specialized form of cupping that uses a dedicated electric suction device to carefully reduce the pressure inside the cups and create slow, gentle, and controlled suction.
Rather than relying on strong or sudden suction, the Suikyu device allows the level of suction to be gradually adjusted according to each client’s comfort and individual needs.
I use a professional Suikyu device registered as a medical device in Japan and have received specialized training in its proper use and techniques. My instructor was trained in China, where traditional cupping practices have deep roots, bringing that knowledge and experience into the training.
The gentle suction lifts the skin and underlying tissues, helping to improve circulation and gently stretch and mobilize the fascia (connective tissue). By working with the muscles and fascia, Suikyu Cupping Therapy is intended to help relieve muscular and fascial tension, reduce stiffness, support mobility, and promote relaxation.
Temporary redness, discoloration, or circular marks may occur following cupping and generally fade naturally over time.

To ensure your comfort and well-being, there are certain health conditions where massage may not be appropriate.

○ Kidney disease, renal disorders, or dialysis
○ Recent surgery or recent injury
○ Severe back or neck pain
○ Disc herniation or spinal conditions
○ Severe osteoporosis

○ Neurological conditions (e.g. stroke, epilepsy, MS)
○ Skin infections, open wounds, or rashes

Depending on your health condition or circumstances, I may recommend another qualified therapist or healthcare professional who is better suited to support you. Every effort is made to perform cupping with the utmost care and to minimize the risk of skin irritation or blistering. However, as with any cupping treatment, skin reactions, including blistering, may still occur.
If blistering or skin damage occurs over tattooed skin, the appearance or color of the tattoo may be affected.
Depending on your tattoo and your preference, I can adjust the level of suction or use gentler suction over the tattooed area whenever appropriate.

Please note that the baby oil contains a small amount of fragrance.
For those who are sensitive to fragrance or prefer a fragrance-free option, MCT coconut oil is also available. Please let us know before your treatment if you would prefer this option.
